to come at night. These are review sessions of the day.
Lunch and supper will be served every day (lunch

helpful.
The purpose of the school is to teach both
children and adults how to read shaped musical notes and how to sing the
various parts (soprano, alto, base & tenor). All singing is a cappella and
involves traditional hymns. Students are divided into three classes depending
upon their age and ability. One class is for pre-school/small children. Another
is for middle school children and the third class typically involves those
twelve and older, including even those parents who wish to participate. Parents
are usually very surprised at how much their children learn during this week
and are emotionally moved at the beauty of the music and words being sung.
Children generally learn at a faster pace than adults, so it is important they
develop these skills early in life. It is also a joyous experience for the
students because of the gratification of their accomplishment and the
fellowship they enjoy with other Christian youth. Hymns written in praise to
our Lord Jesus Christ represent the greatest, most beautiful, and most
heart-touching music of all history. They represent a major portion of our
worship of God. So you will agree it is important we do it to the best of our
ability. Since this high goal can be attained in a joyous experience, we hope
you will join with us!
The church is located at 349 Cross Park Drive,
Pearl, MS. From I-20, take exit 54, which is the Brandon/Crossgates exit. At the top of the exit ramp (Home
Depot will be on your right), turn left heading north toward Hwy. 80. Turn left
onto Hwy. 80 and go about 1/2 mile to the first red light and turn right onto
Cross Park Drive. The church will be on your left after just a few hundred yards.
There is ample parking space and plenty of open, grassy areas behind the church
for the kids to play and run between classes.
Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an
adult while older children may be dropped off. Dress is casual but we ask the attire
be modest and appropriate for our church setting.
We are excited and thankful to host this event
again this year. Please let us know if you have any questions.
May God bless,
