Those who cannot attend during the day should try to come at night. These are review sessions of the day which are not divided by age. It is a more casual learning experience.

Lunch and supper will be served every day (lunch at 12:00pm / supper at 6:00pm).

There is no charge, though contributions will be helpful.

The purpose of the school is to teach both children and adults how to read and sing shaped musical notes out of a hymn book and how to sing the various parts (soprano, alto, base & tenor). All singing is a cappella and involves traditional hymns. Our ultimate goal is to grow in our ability to teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in our hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16b.)

Students are divided into three classes depending upon their age and ability. One class is for pre-school/small children or non-readers. Another is for middle school children, usually 4th - 6th graders, and the third class includes all others, 7th grade -adults, including parents who wish to participate.

Parents are usually very surprised at how much their children learn during this week and are emotionally moved at the beauty of the music and words being sung. Children generally learn at a faster pace than adults, so it is important they develop these skills early in life. It is also a joyous experience for the students because of the gratification of their accomplishment and the fellowship they enjoy with other Christian youth. We believe hymns written in praise to our Lord Jesus Christ represent the greatest, most beautiful, and most heart-touching music of all history. The Bible teaches that singing hymns is a major portion of our worship of God (Eph 5:19, Col 3:16). So we hope you will agree it is important we do it to the best of our ability. Since this high goal can be attained in a joyous experience, we hope you will join with us!

There is ample parking space and plenty of open, grassy areas behind the church for the kids to run and play between classes.

Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult while older children may be dropped off. Dress is casual but we ask the attire be modest and appropriate for our church setting.

We will close out singing school this year after the Thursday afternoon session so we can start our Annual Summer Meeting Thursday night with Elder Lasserre Bradley, Jr from Cincinnati, OH and Elder Andrew Huffman from Chattanooga, TN.

We are excited and thankful to host this event again this year. Please visit our website at http://www.pb.org/ for more information about the singing school or our Annual Summer Meeting and click on the Special Event Schedule.  Please let us know if you have any questions.

May God bless,
